Introduction
Sauganash Elementary school is a Chicago Public School located in the city’s north side. All K-8 grade students use the writing workshop method to learn how to write effectively and for a variety of purposes. These personal narrative samples demonstrate the significance the staff places in each student’s unique voice and exemplify students’ personal experiences as meaningful subject matter. We celebrate and share student writing in several ways, and are looking forward to our Read My Story family writing night in February hosted by Literacy Coach Rosemary Barilla. Ms. Barilla wishes to thank all Sauganash teachers, Principal Christine Munns, and especially the students who work towards becoming the best writers they can be!
